I'm not just new to SEO, I'm new to computers

I'm here to learn all I can from the pro's on this site. So far everyone has been a great help. This isn't my first post, but I feel I should introduce myself and tell you guys and girls why I need help. I own an auto detailing business in Houston. Through word of mouth and basically superior skills to any of my competitors the company has grown tremendously. I think I'm trying to take in to much SEO info all at once and it's just confusing me. For instance, I see my site on the first page of Google for one or two keywords but I'm mostly on the second page. One problem I have is that I don't even know how to make a "Title Tag". I just swapped out "Homepage" for "Detail Authority so when I popped up on the Organic side of a search engine I would be easier to spot. Other things I need to work on will be the aesthetics of my site, I believe it has great content, just put together terrible(by myself of course), and I need to get a logo designed, not just something on Godaddy's template. Hope to learn all this from you all, and thanks for getting me this far.
