I'm New to SEO

Hello everyone, I looking to learn SEO for my sites. I'm using IBP Internet Business Promotor This program works pretty good for link building and many more cool features. Any other ideas for SEO?

For onsite SEO, make sure you "sprinkle" keywords (don't spam or you risk a penalty) through the title tag, h1-h6 tags, content, urls, images names alt text etc. onpage SEO basics gives more detail and also sample code.

For offpage SEO, get links from articles, social bookmarking/news, Squidoo, press releases, directories, forums, blog comments etc.

The domain name (whether or not it has your keywords in it) and the website age also impact the serps.

Update title tag, meta tags - description and keywords.. focused to your main keyword in these.. put H tags.
Alt tags on images to boost keyword density.
Get some back links from good sites.

Link Building is a must. I have to start building my links up, I know this will take some time as well.

 

Knowing some basic html helps, so you can go into sites to edit them and perhaps re-structure the site if needed including internal link re-structuring
