I'm New To Affiliate Marketing I Have Some Very Easy & Quick Questions For You...

    Hey Guys,

I'm pretty much a noob to this AM stuff. I just want to know a few things so I could better understand things..

    So my questions are...

    1. How long did it take you to start making money on Click Bank?

    2. How many unique visitors a day did you have before you started making sales?

    3. Do you have to be ranked #1 on the SE to make money or can just being on the first page in general like #5 or #9 etc. make you money.

    4. Finally, any tips that you suggest that could help me succeed in AM?...

All your replies will really help me out. It's my goal to make at least one sale =).

    Thank You!

A few hours - AdWords made it easy for me :p

Well, I didn't even had a site so let's say 0 .. First sale was in about an hour after launching my first campaign - if I remember right, it took me 200+ visitors to convert.

Not really - you can get traffic from other places, too.

    Act!

    Hi Mark,

I am also new to AM. To tell the truth, I was giving up on the whole idea after the work I'd put into it returned no sales. But then a few weeks ago I logged into my CB accound to find my first sale! (I might sound crazy but it felt soo good!) That has re-ignited the flame and pushed me harder to start trying to make this work.

In answer to your question... my first sale came after about 3 weeks (not really putting much work in, just trying the ropes really). The sale didn't come from being ranked high in the SE (I don't have a website for AM) .... I used forums and classified ad sites, posting useful information and sneakily putting my link in where it was relevant.

As said in the first post, to succeed, you just need to ACT. Although, I did alot of reasearch into it first, I suppose like you are doing now. But I firstly made a plan of how I am going to get stuck into it first.
Also, I recommend not just focusing on one method of advertising! What I did was setup time periods where I tested different methods and recorded the results from that method. Use the methods that work for your niche best! Don't spend ages trying to squeeze abit of traffic out of one method when you are easily getting traffic from an alternative one.

Right now, just get stuck in and have a play around. You can easily do it cost-free.

    Regards

Here are the answers for your questions:

    1) Read the threads in this forum
    2) Read the threads in this forum
    3) Read the threads in this forum
    4) Read the threads in this forum

If you follow the answers, you will make your sales...instead of spending time on some not very helpful things...like creating threads...

The most important thing is really choosing the right product in the first place. You need something that's selling, but that hasn't already saturated the market. Don't be afraid of competition, it shows there's a demand for the product. But by the same token, if the world and his wife are already promoting it then you'd do well to walk away and find another product to work on.

I would say that if your primary aim is to be posting your unique URL everywhere you are likely going to get discourage pretty soon. My point find a market Niche and get a website and build your list which is very crucial. In that way you can have a regular income.

50 visitors this is the number of targeted visitors that took me to make my first sale.

I just made my first two sales recently! I posted an article reviewing a clickbank product last friday. Saturday I made 1 sale and my earnings were $33.90 - and the next day I got another sale!

No sales in the last 3 days though. I'm considering using Adwords to drive traffic.. but i'm still a novice with it.

I would suggest setting up a Clickbank campaign with follow-up email autoresponders. Basically build your list first, nurture a relationship with your list and then introduce your affiliate links in the emails. This approach more than doubles your commissions as you treat your subscribers as human beings. I use this approach for all my affiliate marketing.

Thank you guys for the advice!! I'm using CB right now I've made one sale and I got returned a few days later. After that I haven't had anymore sales. I'm thinking I need more traffic...

I'm getting around 30 to almost 40 visitors a day. What do you guys think I need to increase my campaign to get more traffic to my site?

I'm severing ties with CB I'm going with Amazon... Though the commission isn't quite as high as CB, Amazon doesn't force you to jump through several hoops just to get a paycheck.

Do you mean CB requires more traffic than Amazon to bring sales ??

From where on this galaxy did you come to such conclusion ???

No I don't mean "CB requires more traffic than Amazon to bring sales"... There was nothing mentioned about traffic.

I said there were "several hoops you had to jump though just to get paid". For example you need.. 1 order from someone using a Visa card, then another order using a Master card, and a bunch more or requirements before they release your commission check to you.

    Sorry my comment was unclear.

Yes, but once you find the area the products that will sell with your methods Clickbank is awesome and will pay you more. I battled with meeting that requirement and had over $100 in sales sitting there waiting for it, but once I got that last sell and it said my check was on the way I have been consistently getting checks since then every few weeks.I also promote Amazon products and they pay on time aswell but it has like a 2 month wait commissions you have earned and you have to sell alot more products to make the same as Clickbank..
