Hi everyone, my name's wing. I am 13 and I come from London, England. As I can't do any official work I instead do projects for my dad. In recent months, clients have asked me (via him) to use Flash and so I started the path of learning Flash and Web Design. I am nowhere near a master at it but I think I'm improving. I recently got Adsense and have spent many hours on this forum. I wish it all the best,

Hi Wing and welcome. Have you got any URLs that show your latest flash work?

What are your major areas of interest?

I haven't published that much work due to being busy at school and having only an 1 hour a day for the Computer. My dad bought me some templates from template monster which let me see how the professionals do it. My main site is for my Table Tennis Coach Gareth Herbert -http://www.garethherbert.com. One of the first pieces of work I did was for a Spanish properties site about its Marbella Resort - http://www.seabrookproperties.net. At this very moment I am changing the layout to hopefully make it look more professional.

    P.S thanks for the welcome!!!

Interesting work wingdude. Have you thought about the implications of using flash and getting your site indexed and ranked by the search engines?

Well ,I heard from a few sources that Google can now index Flash but are there anything you have to edit like the text or any script to put in that will allow it to be indexed. Also my coach liked the site but said many people asked for the address because they couldn't find it on Google. Are there any fool-proof ways of putting the site as #1 on the search.

I went to your spanish property site and the page takes way too long to load and will not be good for you unless you speed up the load time.

I was not willing to wait for the page to load and 99% of dial up users will not.

So you will need to look into that.

Its strange because mine only took 20 seconds but I must have forgotten that it was over 800 k. Sorry about that, as I said before I am redesigning the site and will let you know when I have finished.

    Hi

had a quick look and there are two things I would advise:
    1. Don't use music it is tempting but a nighmare for people like me that use VoIP and do computer telephony whilst browsing it also wakes the whole house if one has forgotten to disconnect from the main amplifier.
Alternatively to "sell" a property a light seasound or simply birds and wind in the background (but toned down) may suggest something which is hard to get across using pictures.
    2. Depending on connectivity and loop congestion flash does take a bit to load, try to generate an intro page that holds a visitors atention whilst flash is loading, just a green background and the loading bar is not very interesting.
A holding page with some highlight text and maybe one or two pics will help in SE positioning and holding visitors on site.

    Best of luck
    M
