I'm lost with this microphone!

    I've never use my PC's microphone jack and I purchased a head set today. Microphone seems to be not working. Do I need a driver for microphone. I am not sure if the microphone is defective or the jack... am not really sure...

    No, headset don't need a driver. Have you try that microphone on other PC?

    If its a plug and play you will need the drivers, although 99.9% of the time windows XP and VISTA will automatically recognise the drivers.

    Never heard of a headset needing drivers.

    I know, some can depending on the functions it has. Some these days have multiple features and functions :)

    It will pop up at the bottom right of your screen saying it is recognized, make sure you are not muted or anything ;)

    That's actually what I did... its resolved now and the guys from annoyances.org helped me.. There was actually a slight problem with my sound software...
