Great pitch... Very professional. I'm sure you'll be inundated with genuine offers soon.

Perhaps you might want to take this advice.

You write 3 grammatically incorrect sentences. Tells me you are illiterate or plain lazy. Would someone want to hire an illeterate or lazy webdesigner?

Smileys... Speaks for itself. Not professional!

Good in X, Y an Z. What does that tell us? Sweet F All.

    @hotmail.com... Again, very professional.

    Good look with your ventures...

It's just constructive advice; do with it what you want. So what I've made a spelling mistake. I'm not pitching myself for a job here.

Change your approach and your talents might be called upon.

Hey, didn't know that I must type in proper English in forums. English poor? Singaporean speaks English. It's our first language. But it's typical Singaporean when come to typing messages in forums. Good English can only be heard in mainly formal events here. Eg. Interview, debate, etc.

Anyway, I don't see it as an advice. He's being very sarcastic. That's the reason why. But since all of you saw it as an advice, then I would gladly accept it. :) Thanks for the piece of advice mate. Yes, I use hotmail because it's very convinient for me instead of using the email from my web server. Sorry about that too. :) Peace no war~~~

You don't have to write proper English but in certain situations, like pitching your business, IMO it's unheard of and outright silly to type slang. No matter whether it's on a forum or not, if you want to present yourself you just don't type that way. And your English turns out to be of a high standard so why didn't use that to your advantage in your initial post?

Peace indeed (was there war?). A bit of sarcasm is just a good way to bring the point across without being overly rude. It always sticks better with the 'victim'.

Welcome to DP anyway, enjoy your stay and good luck with your ventures.

TOPS has a point there. I'm sure many people simply ignored your inital message just because it looks like something a tween would post. Looking at your portfolio, I can see an image of a website you designed with negligently-erased lower portion of the screen and it tells me that you are not a very thorough person, even when it comes you self-promotion.

Now, you can flame about it or learn from all the posts in this thread. What's it going to be?

TOPS, calm down a bit. No reason to bust his chops so badly. He's simply looking for some jobs to increase his portfolio value. It's not like he's paymentapprovaltooslow or anything :)

Suppose I hadn't said anything and everybody ignored this thread as they naturally would... Would that have helped adiboy ultimately reach his goal? He wouldn't have had a clue his pitch was crap and be going on to other forums to do the same for months... Now he knows. If I'm the bad guy, fine. But at least he's better off now IMO.

I agree with T0PS3O on this one, but eh.

    Back to original question:
Try www.guru.com they send me project leads in e-mail everyday. Not annoying, just actual project leads I "could" do.

See now when I look at this from a business point of view, the first thing that popped into my head was "he didn't do this site and wanted to cover who actually did do it". That was my first impression. Secondly, if you are good with photoshop and the above is the case, why not just cut it and replace it with white, what was done there was done with either the brush tool in photoshop or done in paint and looks just plum lazy. I am not going to bust your chops about the english because well, I am american and my english sucks ;)

Some advice, if your going to do a sales pitch, just have another person take a quick look at it to make sure they don't catch grammatical errors and such. It only takes a few minutes and a well written sales pitch will help you out in the long run. Just a nickles worth of free advice.

    Speaking for experiance:

Its easy to get over goofy with a 'marketing pitch' espescially in forums where the language is more casual, abbreviated and often peppered with 'forum-speak'.

Its also hard to tell how that sort of thing will be accepted. I find it best to only 'market' in forums where I am an active member, have a posting presence and then only in threads where it is appropriate.

I tend to ignore the hopelessly misdirected forum spammers, since 'advising them' is typically a waste of time. Adiboy seems to have a genuine desire to connect with some design projects (although I couldn't seem to get his website to come up when I tried)

As far as grammar and spelling go...please - give THAT a rest. Or I'll be getting flamed on a daily basis. I refuse to attempt to spell every word in every post correctly. My little demonstration on the wonders of public schooling.

That being said - I'd LOVE to work on some 'PAYING website design projects, buyt since I'm all backed up with charitable donations of my time and other resources I'll have to let all the projects go to atiboy.

Hey hey.. cool down dude.. i'm just trying to get more projects to horn my design skills.. you don't have to talk to me in that tone and manner.. yeah my design skill wasn't up to professional standards.. you can call me plain lazy.. it's alright with me.. but without projects, how am I gonna gain the necessary exposure and experience? Bear in mind those stuffs I do that you said lazy took me hours to do! I'm experimenting with the different tools in Photoshop every night. I've got ambition to be a professional web and graphic designer. And I've set my goals and own target to achieve that. I'm still a student unlike you. Relax mate. I'm taking it slowly at the moment. First I want to complete my Diploma. I'll be graduating soon in June 2005. Then while waiting for enlistment to National Service (Army or Police Force), I want to do freelance web designing. I'm hoping to build up on my portfolio. With these portfolio, which is a MUST, I want to enter a reputable local design school. I can't enter this design school without a portfolio or else I'll be rejected! And don't talk to me about marketing tips or technique. I'm a Multimedia and Business student. :)

These are forums. There's a freedom of speech and I can talk in whatever way, style or language I want. So if you think my pitch and style of writing English is lousy or poor, go and visit hundred of other forums. There's thousands more like me. Like I said, this is a forum. And you don't scare me with the way you talk to me. I'm not afraid of anyone even though you are way older than me. And yeah, in forums, the way people talk (or type) doesn't imply the type of person he or she is. So yeah, I've got a big feeling that you are not what you are here. ;) You might be fierce or give others the impressions that you are someone to be respected. But I'm sure you are just a plain silly computer nerd acting like a gangster.

I have tried since he first came on...I can never seem to get it to open either.

ADIBOY - after you post a bit more (10 times aI think) you get to put links in your signature - best if you put links that work so we can all see your work.
