Hi everyone, I noticed a lot of blogs have this "featured posts" or "headlines" box at the top of their content, that displays a few headlines (along with a short description and an image) of their most popular posts. You can view an example here: http://www.coedmagazine.com/ I was wondering if there was a Wordpress plugin that allows you to do that. I looked at that page's source code, and noticed they have something called "ep_headliner" in their plugins folder, but I couldn't find any plugin named like that. Do you know of a plugin (or a widget, or a piece of code) that can create this?
That's a nice plugin Veej (thanks for your suggestion!), but I'm looking for one that would have that cool autoplay function where it would cycle through the selected posts. Anyone using this on their blog?
I have found instructions on how to make the featured articles scroll automatically here, but unfortunately the instructions are for that specific paid Wordpress theme. Does anyone know if there are other plugins or themes that allow you to do this?
No...these functions are embedded into designs of Magazine Style Wordpress templates. I am almost certain that you will not find a simple plug in to accomplish this, as I have looked. The better ones are paid themes, but there are af ew free ones, that are available if you do a Google search for , "wordpress, magazine themes" that are decent.
I already knew about magazine themes, but I thought there was a specific plugin that could do this for regular themes too (http://www.coedmagazine.com/ doesn't seem to use a magazine theme). Anyway, thanks for your reply!
