    Hi All,

I was kicking around an idea and was wondering is there any directory script that has free submission and paid submission. But... the paid submission is more of a bidding type feature. Where as a submitter bids a certian amount and that bid determines his placement for that category. Then if someone else comes along and bids higher, the placement will adjust accordingly. The free submissions would be listed last and possibly in alphabetical order. The paid listings would be highlighted and placed at the top of the pages and in order of highest bid to lowest bid. Of course the submitters would have to be able to sign in to a user account so they can adjust their bids as time goes by. And perhaps have the script able process payments through like Paypal or whatever other payment gateways decided on.

Of course the normal features still included,
    SE freindly
    Easily customizable
    Rating option for surfers
Reporting option for surfers to report bad links
Auto link checker for admin to run a clean up

Does anyone know if a script like this exsists? If so, where and how much? Any experiences you'd like to share?

    Thanks,
    Rob

I could do it, but it sounds like a few hours of custom programming.
I don't believe there is an existing script that does this, although a similar concept is pay per click featured results.

Not sure if there is a php version.

The smartsearch cgi version works like that.

It also lets you fill the "unsold" pages with links from other ppc engines that might pay a few cents per click.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't figure there were any directory scripts like this yet, but I had to ask.

    Later,
    Rob
