I'm looking for a cheap hosting plan to run a Java application

    Hello

    I'm looking for a cheap hosting/VPS to run a single search engine bot written in Java, 24/7

    I only need:

    SSH connection
    Java Runtime Environment
    100 MB of disk space
    at least one external IP address


    I DON'T need:
    Apache
    domain name
    PHP
    DB
    control panel
    emails

    If you think you can provide such hosting service,
    please let me know

    not much
    it will depend on the server but I'd say no more than 10% cpu/ram

    How bout $9.00/mo sound to you? You will get full root access but u can only access your server via 1 dedicated IP. Ubuntu preinstalled. Unmetered bandwidth. Hosted on private VPS. No management panel since HyperVM have an issue with it.

    or

    Semi VPS Shared Hosting for $5.00/mo with limited SSH option. Centos 5.2. I can will install java for you but its already have php mysql and come with Kloxo panel.

    If you can give me the full requirement for the script I can look for a better option for you.

    some questions,
    what exactly is "limited SSH option"?
    server location?
    uptime?
    CPU/RAM?
    connection speed?

    Yes, A VPS will do justice to your requirement. as a developer you will need will full control over system wide settings. which is not possible in shared
