Maybe try and win some managed PPC campaign contracts and out source the work to a fleet of experts that'll do the work on the cheap?

If you are good at sales, then 80% of the fight is done..all you need is a client and a publisher...you can try your hand at doing so many things -

Blog marketing - Check out payperpost, you'll understand
Adwords consultant - Sell your adwords management to clients and manage their ad campaigns from your side

You can create an opportunity anywhere - Maybe real estate - selling your online realty website to realty developers or job site...anything...almost all websites needs a sales team..and u can fit in there...

    You're in a unique position 99 -

As a reforming salesman myself, it feels like the web is dog wet with opportunites. All you have to do is connect the dots to make some coin.

As for your particular game... here's a couple ideas that have worked for associates:

    - Sell adverts around a free local publication (business, real estate, finance, whatever)
    - Build some sort of directory (i.e. - lawyers in Texas) then sell adverts on it

Try not to limit yourself to your comfort zone, either. You know the advert game... but Sales is sales man. If you start looking outside of the playpen you'll see all sorts of shiny toys to play with.

Yeah sure, I don't know if you understand or know about PPC but managed PPC campaigns are big business now and are focused on clients that are spending over $1,000 a day.

So if you can win come contracts with clients like that you only need 1-5 and you have a very good business say you have 5 clients and you take a 25% cut before out sourcing it you have 5 clients and that's $1,250 a day.

If you want some more information just Google "PPC management".

Copy what others are doing online and make it better. Educate yourself in the online world, because although in general it is the same strategy on both worlds, they have different tools.

Website promotion through communities, facebook, twitter, and well somehow myspace (so, so) are great too. Learn online tool techniques.

Google "how to make money online", "how to marketing online", use forums, participate on them, give knowledge, receive knowledge. You can go with a nice niche that you like or create an e-book hire somebody on Getafreelancer.com to make SEO for you, and promote the site again in a way that it does not seems that you are selling.

Give freebies to gain readers if you create website. Information is very powerful, give free advice in a blog. You got limitless options, do your work be patient and you will go whatever you want to go.

IMO,selling ads offline and online is 2 different thing.
I urge you to stay with selling ads offline coz selling ads online is difficult due to got adword.
You can startup a new website to sell the ads.
