I know I'm making yet another pointless thread, but need to share this. Google decided to ban my #1 site after yesterday was my best adsense day. yay for papa G! After starting to think there is some hope for adsense afterall, I checked few minutes ago and I wasn't ranking for my domain name, altough some of my inner pages were there. 1 minute ago, my domain appeared, anyway all the serps for the main domain are mia. It was an authority site I worked for 12 months! and it was linked from many parts naturally. I didn't not sold any links, I did some modifications to my website this month tough...quite many. Changed site design, some titles, descriptions, added content, redirected old urls to new ones, made acces possible only to www version (this was made yesterday)....it's weird...Any encouragement is welcomed :)

Google can get suspicious about redirects. You may want to start your analysis there.

It's quite possible that your redirects are responsible for this mess you are having.

    You'll be alright. :)

I always tought one should have either www or non-www version...and i redirect only one old url for avoiding any possible duplicate content penalties...so is better to stick with these changes and wait/pray/hope or remove them?

No, your right you want to redirect non-www to www or vise versa; you failed to do more research, which would of explained how initially you WILL see a temporary loss in results from doing this. Search results should return back to normal in a few weeks at most.

If you are not ranking in the top 40 for your domain name then you are penalized by Google and you will probably have to send a re-inclusion request.

Where do you come to this conclusion, if he recently redirected his non-www counter part to it's www counter and they both have backlinks the value from one will be temporary removed while its being redirected, hence the "301 redirecting". It is basic common seo knowledge that 301 redirecting can result in temporary ranking dropping OR complete removal. Not also to mention he did design and minor content changes like stated in OP.

Thanks! I was hoping you or Dan Schulz will reply with a helpfull post...I actually read that rankings may experience a downfall...if it wrote google may fu#k my site in the ass for a few weeks, I wouldn't have modified it exactly now when traffic for my search terms has doubled tough ...I imagined the worst that could happen would be to land on the 2nd page for some of the keywords. :\ another lesson learned

No problem, I'm sure Dan will leave his 2 cents if he feels I left something out.

I have heard that 301 redirects are ok but if you did it a different way google may have punished you for this.

I'm sorry, but I thought you said in your original post that you weren't ranking for your domain name.

:)) I don't want to dance with shemales...no, no, no ...isn't a faster way to return to my seat? If I remove the 301s for eg...will my serps come back fast, I need them just to cash big these few days to get a custom skin for the forum. :(

Better to stay where you are right now and watch out rather than taking knee jerk actions and confusing the {shemale} more - you know as such they are always in a confused state:D
