hi there, im a new member. im 39 and have multiple disabilirys which affect my ability to understand things on a deeper level inc non verbal classic autism,mild intelectual disability and loss of memory due to behaviors from my autism and lifelong epilepsy damage. i had been originaly making my website to be a portfolio of all of my outsider art, it was for other topics around intelectual disability as well, but recently got fed up with my piles of pages that i had crafted and designed from scratch as it didnt atract anyone. it is a very specific topic and i got fed up and trashed them all (apart from OSSN/social network software and its database, the OSSN UI look similar to facebook). since 1998 ive been building websites in different ways,ive been very happy with the server provider for the past 3 years but i just want to make my maine website into a blog. i have a creaitve cloud licence so i can use photoshop/lightroom to adapt design if needed. so on my website (i use a shared server but you woudnt notice the difference with a dedicated tbh) i used the softaculous installer script, and installed wordpress but i find it to hard to get around so i tried a couple of others and they didnt give me the lack of complexity what i was after,then i saw the dot clear software which doees seem to be simple enough to understand and all i want to do is add a photo into the template and maybe a profile on the right side of the page-like you woud commonly find in blogger/blogspot blogs for example. im absolutely useless with other people languages apart from makaton signing as its one i have to use as part of every day conversation but dotclear does have 1 support forum,and only one board on it is for english speakers which is no problem,ive used google translate to reaad threw to see if i coud find similar posts. ive tried joining the past couple of days and it keeps telling me 'invalid captcha' even though its followed exactly as it says and one of my support staff has tried registering the acount and it still come up with the same answer. ive tried it using a VPN that comes with my mcaffee anti virus kjust in case it was a location problem (im in england) or maybe i coud have had the same IP as someone once banned before but that was no different than without the VPN. so, i am wondering if anyone can tell me how do i go about changing my dotclear blogs banner? and how do i add a profile to the right side of the screen,as you may see with blogspot/blogger blogs.? i have gone threw the admin settings so many times its not entering my head what im missing. in admin>blog appearances theres a lot of files it mentions. what do i have to edit (if anything)? theres a lot of files mentioned in that section, i did try posting their names but there was an error for some reason. thankyou so much if you can help at all or if you even read this far,cheers.
