I'm happy for once

If you've all been following my blog, or even looking at my various posts here on DP, you'll know just how much of a struggle I've been in. I was stupid not to think that the codes I bought were not stolen and was basing it on the fact that they just worked. So, I then found out when the first dispute came into PayPal. Then, I quickly contacted my buyers and took $200 to refund my buyers. However, I only had about $20 in there to begin with, so I had to push whatever was in my PayPal to help save it.

So while my account was plummeting down to about -$300 in the end, I decided to send some e-mails:

Chase Online - They were pretty nice about it, and continued to refund my overdraft fees that were from $20-$60. I was also trying really hard to get $100 from some online offers rewards thing, but of course, most of those don't work. They however shut my debit card down, so I never was billed the $1,000's I probably would have. Although, to be fair, I did get all the crappy CDs I ordered. They told me to call them if I got anymore things charged, but I won't bother now.

Apple - They told me that there was nothing they could do about it, but that I wasn't to hold responsible. They also said that it was a good thing I was refunding people and thanked me for bringing the subject to attention. I wasn't expecting them to replace the codes, but why should they anyway?

eBay - I always hear a lot of bad things about eBay, but I won't ever listen to those people again. They are nice people who helped me greatly in this situation. I told them everything that had happened and that I had talked to Apple, and they said just to tell my sellers to accept the item unpaid claim so I could get my final value back. In the end, they gave me $40 back and after my request, refunded it to my PayPal.

PayPal - They couldn't help me in any way, and I sent them about 10 support questions since the incident. I even opened up multiple disputes against the guy, and they closed all the cases saying there wasn't enough evidence.

I have now found out that the guy is not even from the US, and bought a method on how to open up a US bank account from this very forum. He has a US verified personal PayPal account and is still around here looking for ways to make money (the most recent being an adult YouTube site). But you know what? It doesn't even matter anymore because I've almost gotten myself out of it, and I probably have made more income in the last few weeks than that guy who sold them to me has. I only have to refund one more person, and that'd be it.

My message to you all is this: If you work hard enough on just one blog, you can make a lot more than owning 10 various niche sites that you're not interested in. If you end up in a situation like me, you can probably get yourself out of it by selling links and blog posts and that will at least make you $100. The people who value the site more will always go for a good site with no PR and unique visits, rather than the PR5 with a horrible layout and 10 pages worth of content. At least, that's the way I'd go about it.

Another thing: Because of all the support questions they receive on a hourly basis, Apple and eBay tend to fall back on the copy and paste method, only skimming your question. If this is the case, ask them nicely and say, "can you please read my message from the start again, that did not answer my question." They will of course apologize and give you a correct answer or ask for further information. I see people complaining all the time, but they never actually respond to the letters that the support team sends themselves.

The good thing is that my bank account is only $-28.82, but that's way better than $-300.00. I'm hoping that I'll be able to fix that today and get my life back into order. It's been a stressful couple of weeks, and I'm just glad that I've made it this far.
