I think he is either reffering to Gas Pumps or Water Pumps.

Although just becuase something is searched a lot deosn't mean it pays well

So does that mean Water pumps? I don't think the people that could use them would
    1.) Even have internet connectivity
2.) Would be buying them over the internet

Industrial Pumps would be used by the national guard, etc and they would already have sources.

Or am I going way off on a tangent?

Yeah guess your are. Tonight when Im at home I will post you the exact keyword search phrase. May I ask you something, why are you questioning my info? Did you search for the word pumps and had a look at the right how many advertisers there are ? There are lots of advertisers so there must be people that are interested in buying pumps online or maybe just read about it.

Here are the results for pumps:
    http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=pumps&meta=

None of them seem to be from water pumps

I can't imagine the CTR would be anything good...Plus you actually have to rank for that generic term in order to bring visitors looking for those products.

Just writing about it doesn't mean people will find it. By the time it ranked (if it did), it would be Christmas and no-one would be looking for these things.

Why you suggest pumps? Is there a niche there?

That's pretty good idea, but they won't have access to internet when they needs the pumps, will they?

See post #24 in this thread ;)

By the way, I'm not too hot on the idea of creating an AdSense site in order to benefit from others misery either. It one thing if you decided to put up ads on an existing resource to help fund helping people. But to target it, I think is in bad taste.

I agree, that is almost as bad as those people down there selling bottles of water for 5 bucks!

To answer the original question: I would focus on something you know. There has to be something other than video games that interests you.....I hope! It's much easier to write about something you know. Use that to build your writing skills. Do that until you feel more comfortable with writing, and then you can explore other subjects to research.

Why would corey right about pumps? What on earth makes you think he knows anything about pumps? That is why these discussions are so useless. Write about something you know. It is a very short-term strategy to just try and find a high-paying keyword topic and write about it.

The average person is probably ill-equipped to write intelligently and in an informative manner on more than just a handful of topics. With people into web publishing, you tend to have people prone to a larger and often broader base of knowledge so that goes up a bit. Very few people can adequately write on a large variety of topics across a large spectrum in more than a very basic manner.

I might as well suggest Corey write about Swiss Goat Sweaters. How useful would that be? Even if Swiss Goat Sweaters made $100 per key word. Maybe it would inspire him to become an expert on Swiss Goat Sweaters, and then he could write an informative and useful set of articles or blogs on it. Otherwise it is just a waste of time.

I agree with that, but is there any difference between this case and targeting mesothelioma or any other goddamn kind of cancer? I don't think so.
Can't even think of trying to monetize those poor people's last hopes, while they're waiting for their painful end..

    Sorry, gone a litlle off-topic..

If you build your site purposely without any real info so people have to click on your ads to get answers, no, I don't beleive its any different.

But if you present an informative and helpful site, it is different.
You're going to fit right in here ;)

guys why is coreyt1111 has red sqaure whereas others have green ? I know it is because of negative reps but you don't expect a guy who has 71 posts to be in red ? :)

Anyway I too have a question. I am good in programming and since I am interested in Embedded Systems, so can I make a site on Embedded systems which has google adsense in it. It is more of my personal interestet in embedded systems so I am not much interestested in how much money I will make but still it should be enough so that I can buy some O'Reilly Books :) .....Any comments...

It wasnt my intention to benefit from the floods. There are easier ways to rip people off. However thats just a pure coincident. I really feel sorry for those people in the US who have been affected. I just wanted to show the poster of this thread that there are plenty of niches to choose from. I just had a look at my logs but I cant find it anymore, It was a certain type of pump of siemens that had a high payout per click. If i find it in the end I will still post the type of pump. Plenty of other niches to choose from. Use the adsense preview tool and the adwords traffic estimator tool to get a better understanding of what advertisers have been willing to pay for it and if there are any advertisers available. Look for single , plural words. Two three maybe even four letter word combis. Time and patience sometimes a bit of luck i guess as well.
