I contact cuil.com asking to buy a share waiting for a response. Why you ask? well, you know google... some of the richest people are the ones who bout a tiny share in them when they first started up im gonna try buy one for $10 im waiting for a reply dont you think its worth it? its not like any other search engine, it does have a chance, as they get way better results and the design is more fun and family friendly i think its more the idea that it lets you dream..dream of the money anyone gonna try jump on the bandwagon? I dunno if they will sell share but i have contacted them
Cuil has already received $33 million in funding i don't think they will sell individual shares for $10
Im interested in buying shares too but i dont think with that much VC funding they will be selling their shares at so cheap prices
I'm guessing a lot of you don't know about the stock market, no offense of course. Most of the time you can't buy a single "share" in a company, you buy them in groups of 100 known as "lots" If 1 share was $10 then look to spend at least 100 times that or $1000 Cuil is currently a private company, which means you can't purchase any stock in the company unless they decide to have an IPO (initial public offering).
Have a look at their investor page. They have some serious investment groups supporting them and they are not yet public. I don't think they will be selling shares to the public. It would cost more than $10 in legal fees to issue you a share of a private corporation.
Cuil was yesterday, according to alexa's rank, in the 460 position and growing. One week ago its was on the 1'960,000 position.
Their results are pretty worthless. First of all, far too much text for a search engine...you have to scroll down to see the second five listings. And a search for one of my sites brought up my newsvine account, and three identical listings from the same directory, but not my site. Do they even have a dupe content filter? I know it's a new search engine, but from launch it ought to be at least as good as Google if it plans to compete, especially since the hype is that these are Google ex-employees. The name is awful...is it supposed to be pronounced, "cool?" I would rather use MSN search-and I never use MSN search.
