I have a been a webmaster for around 5-6 years and enjoyed every single minute of it. I have tried everything you can think of... EVERYTHING!! and haven't found my "fortune", i'm not trying to become a millionaire online, just a part time income. However i never tried to sell anything online. I think i am ready to start, i found a good supplier, the market is crowded but do able. I plan to sell much cheaper than everybody else, and the price of my items im selling are going to be £1-£10 to start with. Have you ever run a eCommerce website? if so how should i start? I can make the website myself and logos and write the articles for each item ect and do the SEO for it too (slowly). How should i go about doing this? Heres my plan... - Set up the website and add the items for sale.. wait for them to get indexed - Order stock in and take pics and add to a blog i set up also and the main store - Start selling some on Ebay and amazon and promoting my store too. - set up all the social media... pinterest... linkedin... facebook... twitter ect ect... - Write a few articles and publish them on some article websites to drive traffic and SEO boost - Reach out to bloggers in the industry, offer them free items and see if they blog about my website... (kind of a trade secret used by SEO companies and works very very well). - Squidoo lenses for each item for sale on my site... as well as hubpages, free wordpress blog, blogger, tumblrr and all the other major web 2.0 sites. - Maybe give out flyers in my area or set up a car boot or market stool one day a week - Post on classified ads and forums (not spamming of course) - Most importantly... If you are anything like me ... you give up and more on to the next project before you've even finished your current one. I need to stick at it and not give up like i always do. Well thats my plan for now. Maybe it will take a year before i start getting sales but i'm ready to stick at it and not give up! I hope to start a wholesaler if this gets big. If it doesn't im going to be a full time begger on the streets of London.
Your plan is really great. I also see some people doing SEO on just domain withoug posting any content. They post contents after getting PR-3. It means that their contents get quick indexing in google. Please share your idea about above tip. I hope it may help you.
At OP your strategy is more than enough to get you started making $100 per week for real. Your strategy is full of hard work which many do neglect for example I prefer paying google for traffic and start seeing some sales immediately but once the capital finishes then I will be back to square on e with no traffic to my website. If you should be focus on this your strategy by next year your website will be on autopilot no need for working on it again. Thanks
How can you offer an SEO service when your website has no SEO done to it!! LOL Shows me your services don't work!
I wouldn't do this as i want content and cause i will be offering a large discount for the first few months i want people sharing it and tell their friends where they can buy this cheap items. So if there is no content to start sharing then it will be hard to promote. The best SEO is natural SEO and with other people doing my SEO and driving traffic it will free up more of my time to promote it in other ways. I forgot to mention i will be doing video marketing... reviews of items and Where to buy for all the major video websites like youtube and vimeo.
I hope so! $100 a week would be nice. Also i find all this fun so its a hobby for me too. I doubt it will ever be autopilot because i will be sending the products out hopefully to customers who purchase the items I can always expand into other markets as well. I choose a domain name that is easy to remember and brandable and no specific to one niche.
Yes, you are going in right direction. You should start full website with good SEO because you want instant sales. The SEO plan that I have explained above, is for general blogs.
