You also need to consider your ISP's upload and download speed.

    hostgator $6.95 per month.

jamming up your PC to work as a server wont work well, unless your going to bring in a T1 / T3 connection.

Also some companies like comcast will see the bandwidth youre eating up and upgrade you to business pricing.

For that price you're better off with host gator

You get what you pay for ,

You want to play like a BIG BOY , then get yourself a dedi and a server admin.

You want to play with the kids remain on shared hosting

Nice mouth on the thread title as well,

You should be banned, If not infracted for that.

It also shows your lack of professionalism :(

1.5ghz computer with 502mb of ram is ok but i believe you can't host too many sites. Additional, you must have high connection speed. You might consider ubuntu server edition where everything can be setup within 30 minutes.

    Installation guildlines with screenshots:
    http://www.debianadmin.com/ubuntu-lamp-server-installation-with-screenshots.html

    Latest version:
    http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/serveredition

    Hope this help.

Damn those dead bodies create such a horrible problem, don't they. LOL.

How many times do I have to tell someone. Do not use "joes home hosting". It's not realiable.

    Here's your solution www.urlhost.net. It's easy, it's quick, it's fair priced, and its stable.:D

sundaybrew and Loco M can get the hell out of my thread for all I care. I'm not asking for your sympathy but if you don't have something helpful or positive to say, then you can piss off.

Sorry that you have such a low self-esteem that you've gotta go in people who need help's threads and insult them. That's just pretty sad if you ask me.

The topic shouldn't be ZOMG HES SUCH A NOOB LUK WUT HE DID WRONG TBH. The topic is what can I do if the site doesn't come back up.

And for the last time, I'm not on a free host. See for yourself if it comes back up. This is a one of a kind unique partnership between myself, and the owner of the host.

Edit: Oh and it's not Joe's home hosting... he just got out of university and wanted this host to like revolutionize the world of hosting. It really looked and felt pretty professional and like it had the potential to succeed.

Oh and just for the record I was hosted with http://www.asmallorange.com until my mother passed away and my whole life got disrupted, and as a result I couldn't afford to pay for it so this seemed like a good idea.

I really shouldn't be the target of any shit. All I'm doing is asking for some bloody help.

low self esteem ? okay bud, and if you didn't want us replying, then you shouldn't of made a thread crying about your hosting..

The fact is, you get what you pay for. Or in your case, what you Didn't pay for

The low self-esteem was directed at sundaybrew. And I do want replies, just not ones filled with negative-emotions vented in the wrong direction.

    ah, okay :)

well I seen you talk about hosting your site off your home PC, this isn't very rational IMHO
You'll need a fast line and plenty of bandwidth.

I'd check out hostgator or one of the many host that offer year packages for less then 50$ a year. :)

Until I can get my finances together I think I'm going to have to temporarily host with http://www.xzorbix.com. They offer 5 gigs of space and 200 gigs of bandwidth with all the features for only $3.99. They are very new obviously but right now I just need to get my site out of that warzone of a shitty host and onto something stable. I might consider going back to asmallorange although their speeds weren't to my liking.

And I apologize for being rude. I just get very defensive when I'm angry and obviously this is a frustrating day. Not only is this hosting shit getting me, PayPal just stole $110 from me, and this stupid memory company sent me the wrong memory hehe.

    Sorry.

Friendly speaking, you shouldn't use those "sensitive words". I understand that you are frustrated and angry but shouting those sensitive words on your own thread will not help.

I rent one seft managed server from great canada server colocation service provider, one reseller account with uk hosting provider and 2 local workstations here. I don't suggest you host your own sites unless you have a strong knowledge on server management and have a great connection speed. No offence taken please. I do have my own manage server 11 months ago. Why i continue my subcription services with uk hosting provider? Awesome customer support is the keyword here. They help me a lot and it is time that i return a favor.

    lmao......

    Guess I hit a nerve huh :)

I don't need to be an attention whore and use EXTREME offensive words as thread titles.

    But ok - Its me

Fact remains like loco said ,

    You need a real host

Oh and BTW , this is a "forum"

That means anyone can reply :)

Thats kinda the point of a "forum"

But thanks again for worrying about me :)

@Taylor, if you use XZORBIX you will probably encounter the same feeling ;)

I know them, and trust me you won't want to deal with them.

I really don't care if I offended you sundaybrew. If people are offended then they don't have to help me. Now you're just starting shit. Nobody's worried about you by the way.

And yes anyone can reply but it's pretty stupid if you're just replying to start trouble.

    To OP

No matter how angry you are, I would say its purely your mistake.
One should never host any important site with free host. (And I mean NEVER)

I will say, consider it as a Lesson (A hard one) and try to find what is the most recent backup u have got and go from there. Even if you dont have a full backup, you can try searching by Google Cache.

    lol @ sundaybrew

Fastian, I expect it'll come back up again at least once more. It already did twice. I really hope it does. If not I'll have to run with the back-up.

    Thanks.
