THAT'S IT.. I'VE HAD ENOUGH  After months and months and months of optimisation, link building etc I can't get my website anywhere near the top 150 for our main keywords. (top 5 on MSN, Live, Yahoo both UK and Globally)

Any tips or the telephone number for a good councillor anyone?

Hope so, all the allin queries point to having top 10 positions, and last month we were on the second page for a number of days, but now 185th place and plunging  Although the web traffic isn't critical there has been a definite downturn in enquiries due to this.

In the UK Google has a 75% market share, Yahoo has about 8% as does MSN. If you do business online in the UK you can't ignore it.

How long has the site been online? Whats the url? What keywords are you targetting?

I know it has 75% market share, that's what makes it all the more frustrating! The website has been up for years before I joined the company, we've changed hosts but the domain's the same.

    url = www . poslogistics . co . uk

main search word is epos software

    Yahoo 1st + 2nd Place
    MSN 3rd + 4th Place
    LIVE 5th + 6th Place
    Altavista 1st + 2nd Place

Google : 184th place (slight improvement!)

    Any help appreciated

Well, I don't have time to give a full SEO analysis but it looks like you aren't utilizing a site map...Any reason for that?

90% of the traffic we get is from google, but that's adwords and doesn't generate much.

Just backlinks won't work! Is your page designed to meet google standards ?
Do you link to unwanted places ? Spammy neighbourhoods!
This will hurt your site if you do!
Irrelevant outbound links are not good too! Are your links proper/come from relevant pages?
    Abhishek
*edit* Didnt read the line where you posted your link! Will PM you the analysis in sometime :)

I've read the google webmasters guides and believe the site meets the requirements. We don't link to any spammy neighbours, only a few outbound links that aren't totally irrelevant.
