So it's the start of a new month and I checked my Awstats a few times throughout the day today just to see how things were going. Everything looked normal, like it always does. I just checked the "Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines)" stats again and I noticed that out of nowhere I got over 50 visits from some weird URL I've never seen before The URL is: http://r2606.com/the/ Code (markup): I was kind of excited and wanted to see how they had a link to my website, so I decided to visit the website and found out that it's loaded with viruses!! How are people getting to my website from this one?!?!?! What is going on here?
my bet is it's just referer spam and you never got any visitor from there. Black hats do this this sometimes. If you had public stats like many others you would have just linked to them They also determined you and everybody reading this thread to visit their site Nice, isn't it?
It happened again like a week after. This time from a different URL, but it ended with the same '/the/' on it, so I didn't even visit this one. It sent the same amount of referrals from it as the other one did. Weird.
