I'm getting sick of google! My PR just went from 4 to 3. The harder I work at trying to get google to help me, the less they seem to do for me! Anyone else lose a pr point? Edited to add: I did not change anything significant that should have taken away a point.
Pr has nothing to do with your site serps so why are u worried...i got my sites lose pr from pr-3 to pr-1 one was pr-4 now its pr-3 one was pr-3 now its pr-0 Comeon PR matters only if you wish to sell links which is not good option as far as my opinion is concerned..
That's your problem right there, try not to concentrate on improving your Page Rank, Google doesn't like people doing that anyway, and spend all of your time making your site better instead.
Well usually those Google gadgets are useful to the site owners/visitors too, so both sides get something out of it. Honestly though, don't get disheartened by changes in Page Rank. I know it feels bad when you see it go down, but it really doesn't seem to make much difference to how many visitors you get. I've been running sites for over 5 years now and I've seen my first one at 6,5,4,3,2,1 and zero - all at different times over the last 5 years. I used to get really upset about it too, like I'd done something wrong, but I realized after a while that it wasn't making that much difference and, more importantly, I was wasting way too much time worrying about page rank, who's linking to me and visitor stats when my time would have been better spent, as it is now, just making my sites bigger and better and the other stuff just happens on its own, whether you watch it or not - so you may as well not and save some time.
Not completely, the toolbar makes it easier to search something on google, you don't need to enter into their website first.
I'm tired of trying to placate to Google. The Google World is definitely not a level playing field. And it's certainly not worth spending money chasing Google around. I'm just going to concentrate on MY CONTENT and MY USERS and not worry about PR...
yes.. I'm also very upset with today's update. I'm expecting a PR5 or PR6 on one of my site's but.. it falls to PR2
Try to move on with life. As long as your traffic is not affected, then it should still be ok unless you are relying on link sales as a major source of income.
If PR is important to him, it's important to him. I see nothing wrong with having a juicy PR cause almost all the Top sites have it, so it must mean something. If he has the SERPS and he wants PR too; then let him.
If PR isn't important then let's see Matt Cutts reduce his site from PR7 to PR0 I personally detest PR and Google for creating it because that little green bar gives a false sense of authority when somebody using the Google toolbar visits a site. Additionally, PR ranking can and does affect the ability to sell direct advertising on a site or blog (and I'm not talking about selling links, I'm talking about selling banners). Many advertising people equate a high PR with a site that is worth advertising on. Think about it. Why did Google ever create this abortion called pagerank and who the hell are they to tell us webmasters where our sites rank in the scheme of things??? I chased PR and serps three years ago and when I finally gave up because I realized it's a suckers bet, I removed the Google toolbar (spyware) from my browser and focused on creating online communities with the goal of getting direct advertising. After 3 months, the $5 per day I was making playing the Google game turned into over $100 per day with nothing to do with Google, PR or Adsense. So my best advise to anybody who has been shunned by Google is : take that spyware toolbar off your browser, get rid of that Adsense (before they get rid of you), close your Gmail account (you know they never delete your mail) and remove Feedburner chicklet off your blog (one more way Google spys on internet users). Make your enviornment "Google Free" and you'll be suprised how fast you can succeed in either direct advertising or CPA affiliate programs. Google will keep you poor while they get rich.
this is an inspiring post and you should have made it a whole new topic by itself because it contains alot of thoughts that more people need to see
One of my site has a 0 PR (as it only went live end of June 2008, but on SERPS it is hitting page one (on google) on key phrases. MSN /Live has not even undexed my site !
