I'm starting to get frustrated! lol I'm getting tons of clicks, so it seems, but Amazon says none of them have bought anything. I literally have had over 1000 clicks and no sales. Is this normal?
I used social marketing for traffic building but no sale also. And then I change the method to grab traffic from target forums. You SHOULD grab the TARGET visitors to be success on Amazon affiliate program.
I'm not selling, just have amazon UFO books listed on my UFO video site. People keep clicking, but no one is buying. I guess UFO people are poor lol.
it is not fair, because I myself have a lower click but still no buyers, I can not imagine if it's 1000 click me or not-do not click on it instead of the desired targets
Check out your traffic demographics and location, mostly european countries visitors buy amazon products.
i know what you mean... i also have that for somesites i promote depending on the country i market i have many clicks and no much buying (i have that with targeting brazil)... and for other countries i have small number of clicks but mostly buy :s :s in my case is the maturity of the country
Myself I've got many thousands of clicks and a handful of sales. I mean, like really a handful, 4-5 maybe. You have to watch which widgets you use. I find that the targeted ones do much better, if I put them into images and links and are products I am actually writing a review of. With a random list of books or anything, I found I got zero sales too.
Amazon really have bad conversion when you are promoting products that are unrelevant to content. Maybe they can't buy the books (too young, no credit cards,...) or maybe they are not good choice. Go to amazon and sort ufo books by bestselling and promote those. You could also make poll on your site and ask them how old they are, what would they like to have about ufo's,.... When you will know who your visitors are, easier will be picking the right item for them. PS, use pictures with link and not widgets. Better conversion.
If you're getting 1000 clicks you're bound to get some sales around x-mas. Just saying. If you think about your potential customer (site visitor) what are they going to your site for? Information on UFO's? or buying UFO books? etc... The more targeted towards buying the better an amazon site does. Keep it up because 1000 clicks is good and eventually you'll start making some sales. The other alternative is to switch to EBay. It's worth a try to switch for a month or two...
Thanks for all the helpful info! I'll try to be an ebay affiliate and I like the waiting till Christmas idea!
Id guess its your niche, UFO peeps are just too wierd to judge? I get about 1 sale in 10-20 clicks, but my niche is pretty focused and amazon has some great deals in the niche.
