Like the title says I dont feel like im doing well with PPC & was hoping for some advice from the experienced PPC marketers here. Ive tried about 20 campaigns and only 4 have been a success. Unfortunately my looser campaigns ate up most of my profits & 3 of the 4 successful campaigns I had have since expired so now im back to square 1. Im not sure what im doing wrong; im promoting offers that my AM's tell me convert well with search, I build good landing pages (& also test going direct), I use good keyword tools and build tight focused ad groups. So im really not sure what to do now. Do I continue doing what i've been doing & somehow hope my winners outpace my loosers at some point? Or do I need to try a completely different strategy? Thanks for reading this, I know it was kind of long. I would really appreciate any insight people are willing to share.
How do you know your landing pages are quality? What CPA company are you using? Are you tracking keywords?
It sounds like you're not doing everything wrong, as you're getting niches to profit. Just keep doing that, start up a bunch of niches. The ones that aren't working, delete. Keep the ones that work and expand upon them.
Yeah good point. What would you guys say is a decent # of successful campaigns/niches for every 10 or so you try?
Ok, I guess I don't feel so bad then. I remember in a post you said when testing an offer you'll spend say $40 if it's a $2 offer, etc. In that short period do you test different landing pages, keywords, etc or do you just let it run how you originally set it up and if you don't get any action you delete the campaign?
After reading your post it sounds as though your major problem is that your offers are expiring. Stop picking those offers. Look for Azoogle offers that have been around for a while. Their ID's are numbered sequentially so pick something with a lower number. You could also look for other similar offers from various other places (PM me know if you want to use my NeverBlueAds, Hydra, CPAEmpire or MaxBounty affiliate link ) Lastly, look for offers that have various similar other offers. "Work from Home", "Dating", "Debt", etc... When you finally do turn a profit, then look for a way to ratchet that up. $100 a day from an offer can usually be tweaked and magnified to $500 or even a lot more.
$100 a day is a big number for some people for an offer. You shouldn't be content with that for that offer. Most people will run off and look for more offers when it makes more sense to make your offer more efficient and get more traffic for it.
I almost fell out of my chair just now. JesseeCooper...what do you think about this? Daidevo, you too!
Don't think of every campaign that doesn't make you money as a failure. Think of it as investing in education. I myself just had a bad couple of days (after setting a new record for myself on Wednesday). I give a few tips on using PPC advertising to promot Zip Submit offers and how I learned from my mistakes in my latest blog post. http://www.revenuequest.net/2007/10/14/200-roi-with-zip-submits-and-investing-in-bad-campaigns/
There are a few places out there to join and learn some PPC ideas. I almost joined one that was like $75/month but couldn't justify that at the time. Learn PPC in my sig is a lot cheaper and it's set up easy and friendly.
Looks like you're making money on expiring offers and loosing money on long lasting offers, so maybe looking for the same campaigns as the expiring ones is what you need to do. You may find similar campaigns in Azoogle or other networks.
Ramp up your profit margin & drive down your keyword costs. 4 out of 20 success is good stats. Also, rememeber there are also other PPC supplier like YPN & MSN. Some type of offers convert better at different network due to different demographics for all those major providers.
You are going to lose money that is how the game is played and that is what separates the men from the boys. If you have 1 out of 20 campaigns that make you money. Then you put that one campaign on autopilot and continue to test. So you PPC is all about testing and when you find the winning campaign rinse and repeat
