I have been getting an average of 4.4% ctr rates on my site. I am running just one 468x60px text link banner located at the top of my page. Just wondering if this was good, bad, or average?
Other than violating the tos, it's hard to know if that's good or not without knowing more about your market and how others in that market are doing.
Toke old buddy, get the click rate of your post. I made the same mistake and was grateful to have someone point it out to me. You can discuss earning but not impressions or ctr.
There is no good answer to this because there are many other things to considerate: how many impressions does your ad get. How many uniques and how many total visitors do you get. What your theme is... I have sites that get 0.3% ctr, others have a very stable 23%... but the one with the .3 makes me much more money than the second one.
As a general thought though: paying attention to the CTR lets you see what is working and what is not in terms of ad placement, site navigation, ad design and all those other tweaks which can make a difference. Just by working on my CTR and designing pages people like to click I am making about ten times the money I was a month ago....but you can't actually publish the rate.
