Ok, i am now using the 7 day wordtracker free trial and love the interface and all but am not convinced of it's accuracy. I found a keyword with "187 Searches" "227 Predict" and only 23 pages in google. The search term has a google KEI of 1,500 and yahoo with 17,300 (it only has 2 pages in yahoo). The wordtracker results are basically the same for both "exact" and "broad". So i wrote a blog post targeting the keyword and low and behold, within a few minutes the post ranked 1st place for that keyword. Yet it's been 2 days now and i have received no traffic for that keyword..i assume that the column "searches" means daily, since "predict" is daily. Wordtracker says: "Popularity is the number of times your keywords have been typed into the search boxes of the engines that Wordtracker gets its data from in the last 130 days." --Im assuming that means wordtracker tacks the average for all those 130 days? and puts it in the "search" column? If that is so, why am i not getting traffic for 187 searches a day and 1st rank in google!? I feel like i am chasing ghost keywords here with wordtracker...
It may help to check keyword search volume with more that one tool. I prefer the Google keyword tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
I'm sure you are aware that Google Keyword tool now displays Raw Data I'm actually surprised at how many people are still unaware of this
We use Google's - http s://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal We never felt that WT had valid data. Since you are more interested in Google, their date should be used.
When I search for seo writing, google keyword tool give keyword "seo writing company" and i am number one position for this keyword on google but getting no traffic....I dont understand what it really means?
that's probably because there is no search volume...under broad or exact. that's a dead keyword. Ive discovered that adwords keyword tool is much more accurate for google data (the only data anyone cares about) then wordtracker. you just have to know how to use it. It seems all the keywords i targeted with wordtracker, appeared to be alive (according to wordtracker) but were really dead (i wasn't getting any traffic). Awords results show that they are dead, so i guess i can conclude adwords tool is more accurate..well atleast i don't have to pay for it now!
