I'm confused about Article Marketing. Should I go for Quality or Quantity?

As I say in the title, I am confused over Article Marketing strategies. I asked a while back how I should go about article marketing. I was told to get several keyword rich articles written and then submit to as many article directory sites as possible.

I recently asked the question again just to get a second opinion and I was told basically the opposite. I was told to get quality articles written and then submit only to the top one or two directories.

Now I am confused because I really don't know what to do. Should I go for Quality or Quantity?????

Someone please help and stop my head from spinning.

give me some information about what your doing, article marketing is pretty much my specialty (actuallyt he only thing im practicing right now)

are you doing bum marketing style? or are you trying to promote yoru own website via writing articles?

key rule: go for both. you want content. content is key. any time your writing an article, you are trying to capture the readers attention, make them WANT to go for whatever your pushing, be it a product or a website to visit.

at the same time, you want to get as many people to see it as possible, so creating multiple articles (re-write articles in other words) and submit everywhere you can. get your name out there.

I agree with Dragnskull that you need to get your name exposed. Pick 3 or 4 of the best article directories and write as many articles as you can and submit them. Rewrite each article though or you won't get much credit for it. Change the title and structure of the sentences especially the first paragraph. Be sure to use lots of keywords but don't over do it.

    Agree.

Just get your work out there. You can get all the qualified traffic you could possibly need from EA alone...enough to see if your articles convert.

As donrock says above, use your keywords wisely but don't overdo it. EA are turning their attentions on keyword stuffing more than anything right now, so don't risk it.

Submit them to as many directories as you can.

One by one, scratch off any of the directories from your list that don't bring you enough hits.

Quality over quanity. Definitely. If they don't like your articles, they ain't comin' to your site, cousin.

Get others to critique your articles before submitting, though. You may think they are good, but....

There are many ways to get your name out there. One is to do keyword searches for sites that may want to carry your articles.

    "health sites"

    men's health"

    "women's health"

    "healthy living"

    On and on and on....

For each keyword, scroll through the first, say, 5 pages (whatever your time allows), and contact the webmasters with a form e-mail you can copy and paste, time after time. If you know their name, of course address them as such.

Perry Rose: for the last bit do you mean contact them and ask for link exchanges? or offer them a copy of my article?

go for both. use quality articles on your site, and then submit lesser (not horrible) quality articles to article directories to get some quality backlinks + a little traffic.

I find the key with article marketing (and everything else) is consistency. Good luck!

Send a proposal for being a weekly writer, or sending them an article or quick tip now and then.

Set up a page in your site that houses three of your very best articles for them to review.

Don't get me started on seo and link exchanging, or you are going to hear ranting so loud, your monitor will shake.

I suggest you go for quality. The better the quality the more likely sites will publish your work. Better sites too, sites with higher pr. I've seen articles sites with authors that have submitted 100's of poorly written plr articles. I'd be surprised if they ever get used. Its nice to get the back links from the article sites but its better to have people come to your site from a related sites after reading your well written articles.

    Good Luck

Quality is important but remember alot of submission is about building backlinks so increasing the number of submissions really won't hurt.

For my point of view there are few very important things about article marketing

    - to get as much as you can, the backlinks with target hyperlink keyword.
    - to gain some traffic (in this scenario, its hard i think).
    - the get some c class ip with various network site.

I only plan to use top quality content.

Can I do both? i.e. submit to the top few directories then submit to hundreds more?

Quality content with keyword rich: coz tht's the only way for SE to find your article

Quality content without keyword: ppl will share it via blog or forum

    Greetings,
Here's some suggestions to get your article(s) into an "Article Directory".

Authors infrequently read submission guidelines and will submit articles about cats to a directory that only publishes articles on computers. Or they submit articles of 400 words to directories that only accept 1500 words or more. So read the site submission rules 1st.

Secondly, authors also have a bad habit of placing articles into incorrect categories.

Thirdly, A lot of articles these days are very poorly written pieces that are also rampant with grammatical and spelling errors.

As an article directory owner I can tell you that 85% of submissions will not see the light of day on our web site. This is due to:

    1. Not following submission guidelines.
    2. Spelling/Grammar.
    3. Poorly written articles.
    4. Articles that have been software fabricated.
    5. Live URL's in article body.

    Hope that's of help,
    Sysadmin/impactdns
