So im new to the whole link building thing, all these people saying 10,000 backlinks etc and i have no idea what it means. Sum1 give me some advice and tell me how to get started in this, and what it involves.

It involves lot of things like directory submission, forum posting,social bookmarking ,link exchange. I suggest you to search for how to get back links in internet and then you will have a general idea about this.
