I'm so excited and so scared at the same time. Me and my wife are expecting our first child in nov. It's so scary but at the same time it feel great.

So does anyone have any experience in this and how to cope with everyone giving advice (family, friends, friends of friends). It seems that everyone wants to give advice and that the advice given by them is the best one and we should not listen to anyone else.

We are trying to take things slowly and take on board all the advice but then do what we think is right. We read books, listen to the nurses at the hospital and talk to mums, dads and sisters.

This is such a big thing. It's a little "life" that we are to take care of. I mean i still feel like a child myself and i'm 34, how am i to take care of a child

Anyway.. just wanted to share the news with the world... I'm so happy:D

    Cheers everyone

Congrats. I just had a baby on may 21st. The best advice i can give you before hand is read "What to expect when your expecting" its a great book for mom and dad. Also spend as much time doing things together that you enjoy doing before the baby comes. As for when the baby arrives take as much help as offered. I would suggest your wife sleeping when the baby does and taking shifts so you both feel fully rested. Dont neglect each other either. Make sure you schedule alone time. Good luck and god bless.

    Congrats !!

Listen to everyone's advice... they just want to help. It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Every child is different so just take things one day at a time and you'll be right.

    :)

Yes.. names... we have 2 lists of names and of course it's being talked about all the time. Grandparents have a very straight forward way of telling you what names a child should and should now have...

Congratulations you have the right to be scared and happy at the same time.
But at the end you won't be scared, and all that's left is happiness. :)

    Happy fathers day and congratulations.

Here's my advice: Get some sleep. Get a lot of sleep. Get as much sleep as you can stand.

When people tell you that you won't sleep much once the baby comes - you don't truly understand what that means until you experience it.
