Hello everyone, On April 24th my place burned down, we are all safe but the damage is horrific. What is not burned is smoked or damped. Fortunately we were very well insured and we should recover. It will take 6 months and a quarter million dollars to fix the house and over $150,000 to replace what we had. Now we are surviving in a furnished 3-bedroom apartment paid for by the insurance – I hate apartments. My car started the fire! I came back from shopping with my oldest, parked the car in the garage, 15 minutes later the garage was on fire. A neighbor alerted us and 911 around 7pm. Firemen arrived 4 minutes later but garage fires are terrible. Flames were some 30ft tall, the LP gas exploded like a bomb. Really a terrible experience but we are all safe.
Oh man that must really suck. Of course you and your families safety is the main thing, so thank goodness you're all safe...but still...I can't ever imagine my house burning down, all your possessions and memories gone forever. I'm really sorry... Good luck with the rebuilding & shtuff and good to see you back on DP. <3
I have heard a a few people that have lost a house because of a car. Glad to see you are on your feet again...
Thank God you're all safe and that you had an alert neighbor. Hope things begin looking rosier soon; welcome back!
Did firemen find the cause of fire ? I mean what could have started fire in your car ? Do you smoke ? The reason I ask is because I smoke in my car and sometimes parts of ash end up on car floor. Dunno if that might cause a fire.
Wow, what a story. I'm gald no one lost their lives there. You must also be thankful for your home insurance. (Imagine what it would be without it). Skinny
It seems that the battery got a short as it's installed over the wheel the heat put the tire on fire. Before I did think that insurance was a mandatory tax and a gamble. Today I think the opposite. Without it we would be in huge trouble. Thanks God that happened at 7pm I can't imagine if it was 3 am.
Glad your all safe--fires are my main concernd around here,we had a fire about the same time you did but luckly it was the next door neighbors house that caught on fire by the out side grass and it was heading to my house--now the neighbors are living in a small camper trailer..Anyway,so gald your safe and sound! Sending blessing your way,plmerlin....
Oh no! That doesn't bear thinking about. Glad you are all safe and however horrible it has been just be thankful you didn't lose anything more precious and unreplaceable than the material stuff. Yes, I know that sounds trite. But it is true, isn't it?
Im sorry about what happened. But the most important thing is that you and your family are all safe. Im wishing you all the goodluck and good fortune along the way. Bless yah and ur family
