    Well not just ahead of .org , Any domain preference after .com is given then its only to .net ANYTIME, I agree and i also suggest ( .us )and (.co.uk ) , if you get

    There are extensions better valued than .com when you see from SEO perspective.

    .gov
    .mil
    .edu are a few.
