Traveling to almost any country outside North America, one quickly realizes how ridiculous food has gotten in chain restaurants. The portions they serve now in the US are at least double what they were 15 years ago. In other countries, they usually give you an amount that you might actually be able to eat in one sitting without feeling like a pig. The other thing that stinks about trying to find healthy food is that even food that should be healthy nowadays isn't: cows are given hormones to produce more milk, so if you drink milk, you drink cow hormones and steroids too. Fruit is sprayed with pesticides, meat has been pumped with who knows what --- we live in a world of frankenfood. It used to be that organic food was normal. Now "normal," as in what's regularly available, is creepy.
Stopping fast food isnt that hard as it initally appears to be. I did the same about a year ago. I don't eat fastfood anymore now. I like well cooked food made at home..Although you have to be a little careful with what you choose to eat. My univesity salads aren't any healthier than Bagged chips...so be very careful what you pick up and where you pick them up. Some things might look healthy but may not be. Goodluck...I feel a lot better eating healthy..think I've become a lot more active..

Well fast foods are delicious, tempting, and best of all... fast. But, the reason why I would like to avoid fastfood is that I spend my money eating fast foods rather than eat at home that is cooked properly, affordable (because you dont have to pay for it unless you are the one buying in the market), and best of all... Safe
i dont eat much fast food these days, ill have a treat every now and then but tend to cook everything fresh at home now and realise that you can make food just as good but 10 times as healthy. i would say i was addicted to fast food at one point though.
It's very commandable that you are planning to do such a thing. I perosnally like to keep away from fast food as possible. These are mostly empty calories, fat, red meat, salt and suger. Good luck.
