Not hugely, it might be possible but it wouldn't be easy. You could start a design firm with that, starting small spending a fair bit on advertising.
I think it might be interesting to build a small network of quality sites around a certain topic your pationate about. It allows you to deploy all your skills and have fun while doing it. Don't just think advertisments as a source of income but also membership based sites if you have quality content to offer.
I'd say do JV's and network with product developers, other designers/webmasters. You will find yourself either buying into many websites to monetize, or the smarter thing to do is research the market on how you can flip your money quickly without long term commitment to owning more sites. I would say invest into Web Directory. Buy lot's of advertising and create tons of free templates to promote your directory and make it stronger. You are directly selling product and it is much better than making money from any kind of ads. Just do a lot of research on topic before you start.
my Suggestion is Invest in Social Networking or anything related where people visit the site daily to spend some time on the website. in that way your domain price also increases and your business increases. Where you got lot of traffic automatically your site value increases that much. If you invest in advertising network and any other related to product based. Your site value never increases. Offer any type of free service which most users are interested in.You will get users automatically. That's my suggestion.Overall it is upto you. web desiging and advertising network all don't increase your site value immediately and you have to spend lot's and lot's of time on it trying to find publishers and advertisers. It is a headache.
