Does anyone know how to check to see the number of unreviewed sites for a category you don't edit?

I am trying to pick a cat to "Greenbust" but wouuld like to see what type of queue there is.

    Thanks.

Put an @link in your bookmarks to see the numbers. If you have questions or need details, you can always get lots of help in the internal forums at dmoz.

FFS If you REALLY are a new dmoz editor then you WOULD NOT BE ASKING IN HERE!!!!

For crying out loud, if you have got a dmoz position, and you are stupid enough to ask in a non dmoz place about dmoz then resign your position now.

    Folks, wake up....

I dont think this will be a long thread. Not a lot of people will post on this thread just to post something.

    Opps just did.

i just finished greenbusting the cat above my own - jaysus there were a lot of cobwebs in there! Do you think categories with a lot of greenbusts more likely to get some attention from an editor with perms for that cat, or is it just going to make it easier for he/she when they next randomly come across the category?

    Yes - very high priority.
Not in my experience - the editor with the perms has to check every site, will probably make some adjustments to descriptions, may take the time to give feedback if there is anything major. Quicker to do it yourself but then the greenbuster does not get the experience.

    alphacooler,
dmoz has it's own forum for these questions, it would be the appropriate place to talk about dmoz internal issues. :)
    welcome to the project.:)

Doesn't do any harm to show the world what sort of threads we have internally. After all I suspect there are many who suspect we discuss the latest plans to rule the world by blocking every site that does not send $100 to our PayPal accounts. Boring ain't it!

Before we give an answer that will be interpreted the wrong way. Please clarify what "that" is. ;) :D
    1) Do we deny that there are many who suspect we are doing this
    2) Do we deny that we discuss plans
    3) Do we deny that we want to rule the world
    4) Do we deny that we block every site that does not send money
    5) Do we deny that the amount is $100
    6) Do we deny that the payment method is paypal

3 - 4 -5 -6 Yes, I can deny that DMOZ is doing anything of these
We don't want to rule the world. We certainly don't accept money. Sites from people that try to bribe us will be blocked.

1 I'm afraid there are people who think this is how DMOZ works. We try to enlighten them but with some it is wasted time they will or won't beleive the truth.

2 Plans to improve DMOZ are discussed next to the many more much down to earth issues

Do you mean all the official DMOZ defenders that go from one forum to another to defend DMOZ all day long, just do it for couple of $100 payments?
I can't believe that someone works so hard for so little, so tell us how much do you really make by being an editor? ;)

In 3 years of being an editor, most of that time with directory wide editing rights the most I have been offered are beers in a number of towns around the world as a result of adding a webmaster's site. I can't live on beer. Least not all the time. So I have a proper job, working for a law enforcement agency.

    We take it in shifts.

There is a whole thread in the super-secret internal editor's forum where we co-ordinate activities of the DTDL - the "DMOZ Troll Defence League" - Troll attacks are reported in by conscientious members of the public and an editor is dispatched to try to defend the ODP.

One problem with Trolls, though - they breed.
