    First of all, relax and breathe in deeply.

    Now isn't that better?

    Okay, let's get started. The first thing to do is not get all nuts about not earning anything in the first week, especially with a measly 100 uniques/day. (I am not being mean here, but 100 uniques/day is very, very low.) If you still aren't making money by the end of the month, then you can panic. But right now, it's not the time to panic. Not even close. (I know people probably told you that Adsense was easy money and you'll get rich off it blah blah blah, but they're lying. It's hard work.)

    Now, about your ad placements. Check this thread, where I outline some good locations for your ads. It's specifically for blogs, but it'll work on normal static sites as well.

    Now what you need to concentrate on, instead of wracking your brain trying to figure out ad placements and why you're not rolling in Adsense cash yet, is to finish that site. (There's nothing worst than going to a site and finding it unfinish; you are losing potential visitors who will never come back.) Once you're done with the site, and placed the Adsense ads in the recommended locations, now comes the really important (and hard) part:

    Get links from other sites. Submit to the search engines. Do all the standard SEO stuff. And if you have money, advertise. If you don't, that's okay, but traffic won't come tomorrow, or the day after -- it'll take time. For more help on promoting your site, I recommend living in the "Marketing" forum for the next few months. There are real SEO masterminds there who will walk you through the process of marketing your site.

    Good luck, and remember -- it's all good. One week and no Adsense money is how it happens to everyone. ;) Rome was not built in one day, and neither are financially successful websites.

    Thank's jack, that was a lot of help.. and that thread and all.. well i'll get right on it.. but im afraid this site wont be finished for a while, ther's just too much work for one person.. i really dont know much html..etc.. so i basically had to do everything from scratch..you know.. get dreamweaver.. learn n use it.. the layout... content... once this is done then i'll have to figure something for the forums..

    Don't worry about the site not being finished yet. Start trading links now, because they won't "show up" in the seach engines for a while, so the quicker you can start, the better. Start the SEO work now while you're adding content, just remember to put more work on finishing the site and adding content, and leaving spare time for the ad placement and other extraneous stuff.

    Keep plugging away and don't lose hope. 99.9% of every site launched doesn't see a hint (just a tiny hint) of success for at least a month.

    Good luck!

    Actually traffic is slowly going up around 150 daily all from google.. yeah and now im working on the site search function, i need to fix that.. but correct me if im wrong but i seem to have read somewhere that your site ranks good in google if other sites link to your site... not if you have more outgoing links...(because crappy sites would always want to link to good ones) and sreenivas i was thinking about that but there's no space in the left menu bar.. and i want to make it so that the users can easily find what they are looking for

    So you're now in Google, that's good news. If you are using stat tools, try to check where your referrals are coming from, that way you can see what keywords people are using to find you, and where you rank in the SERPs. If you notice the same keywords a lot, start adding more content to target them. And you can never have too many backlinks. Keep working on that.

    At the end of the day, the only thing that will bring you fame and fortune and Adsense riches is content, content, and content.

    I use Sitemeter on a lot of my pages. It gives you referral stats, which is very useful. For instance, if someone found you through Google, you can click on the referral link and it takes you to the results page that that person found you from. You can see the keywords they used to search and what position you are located in Google, or other search engines. http://www.sitemeter.com/

    For the ads, just left align it.

    Just noticed a broken link on your page under "Questions?":

    http://www.anabolicguide.com/under construction.html

    You don't want broken links on your website so you should do something about this! :)

    Also I haven't had time to read through the posts but you should incorporate the google ads into the articles on your site. You might want to change the colour of the links in the ads though, I dunno if white is going to be that effective when all the other text is white as well...

    Now it's time for bed for me! Night night... :D:D:D

    I thought it was for adsense..tracking.. like how many clicks .. on what ads ..what page..(so i could keep the ads that work and get rid of the ones that dont) i have yahoo hosting and it tell's me pretty much the same thing in User CP...but i'll signup for sitemeter anyway...and how do i left align it?

    DarkHodge that link is broken.. because it's suppose to link to the forum's which aren't done, and im trying to incorporate ads in the articles but this is what happens http://www.anabolicguide.com/Femalessteroid.html .. what color should i go for..?
    and.. uh ...goodnight.

    That's Google Analytics. You'll need to apply to Google for that. I'm just talking about general traffic logging.

    1. I think you should remove the hyperlink then until you have the forum running. Keep the text there - just remove the hyperlink.

    2. Mwahaha!!! :D Sorry I had the same problem as you with incorporation of ads and used to use tables to do it. I found out how to do it a month or so ago... Not really a big deal for most people here (as they're really experienced) but it was satisfying for me :)

    Anyway try this code!

    <span style="float: left; margin: 3px 3px 3px 3px;">
    GOOGLE AD SCRIPT HERE, i.e. <script blah blah blah>
    </span>

    Just change the "left" to "right" if you want the ad to show up on the right (surprisingly enough) and change the margin to suit your needs!

    Anyway as you can see I still haven't bothered going to sleep... Too much interesting stuff on the net! :D

    Sounds like a member is trying to solicit his site. That's not kosher on DP. You can advertise your services in the "Services' forum, but it's not allowed to email members to sell them something. I would report this to the administrator.
