First off, hello! My name is mohamed elgharib and I'love this forum, so I thought a small introduction was necessary

So, recently I began learning Japanese (I love Japan and I'm sick of being stuck in this vicious cycle of English people being arrogant and only bothering to learn English), so in order to aid my progress and to keep me committed I thought setting up a blog documenting my journey from zero Japanese to ...... Although I have a few questions that i need to ask.

    1. What would be an ok amount of posts per week? I was aiming for one a day but I can see that getting hard as time goes on, is less ok?

    2. I know you're probably sick of this question, but what ways are there to increase the traffic to my blog? I've searched in this forum and there isn't much that I haven't done (I think), so I thought I'd try and find some more answers

    3. Although this isn't incredibly important to me it would be an amazing bonus for me, What ways are there of making money? Well that's not actually the whole picture, you'll have to know this in order to see my problem with this. I'm 24 i use adsense , or many other things, my Mum won't let me use her bank account to collect the money because she's one of those people who won't put her details online. so I'd either need paypal payments or preferably cheques.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any help is appreciated!

    1. The more the better. Twice a day is better than once a day, once a day better than once every two days and so on. It is up to you however if I was you I would commit to once a day no matter what. This will help you actually learn japanese better because then if you commit to absolutely doing it once a day then you cannot get lazy and quit. 2. For this I would recommend video marketing on youtube. Just make videos talking about your progress, teach japanese to others and ask for feedback. Create a community of people wanting to learn japanese. Youtube receives hundreds of millions of viewers a day. Tap into this. Just put a link to your website at the end of your video. Also do link building through article directories, seo and forum signature posting etc 3. You could do adsense. Adsense is the obvious one. You could however make your own information product (learn japanese in 30 days or something like that) or recommend through affiliate marketing other peoples products. Hope I have given you some ideas.

    Hey there..

Firstly congrats in your decision to start blogging - Its rewarding!
If you are already geared up for posting 1 post a day - Good! But make sure you have a regular and organized posting frequency. Be ready to become really patient and dont complain that you are not earning any income after 6 months. Building a successful blog and traffic takes time and effort but it keeps rewarding you for a lifetime, then why not spend a year!

    1. Post topics and unique content in a patient and organized manner
    2. Do keyword research and identify topics with less supply and more demand
    3. concentrate on onpage and offpage SEO to build the foundation strong.
    4. write guest posts on other blogs to introduce your blog and publicize your blog

    Regarding making money:

Dont write for making money, if you did start with that motive - you might feel disappointed and quit blogging tired! Write for the cause - like u said, for the passion you have for Japanese - write for that and make the blog a part of your life. As traffic to your blog builds up, so will your knowledge, expertise and niche authority increase, then its easy to monetize or make money.

content -> Traffic -> Money and happiness ( is the order it worked for me) and ideally it should work like this Content -> Happiness and Traffic - > Money!!

    Now methods to monetize:

    1. Affiliate marketing (promote ebooks or products to earn commission)
    2. Google Adsesne, Chitika, Adbrite (loads of contextual ad networks are there)
    3. BuySellAds (only when you have enough traffic)

Basically - there are thousands of methods to make money with a website with traffic - So build your website with great content and offer good value to the internet. Wishing you good luck!!

    regards
    Joshu Thomas

I agree with Joshuthomas. he has given you a pretty comprehensive answer for each one of your questions. The more you post, the better. however, do no just post to post. make sure that the content is unique,a optimize your keywords for search engines and Google will give you some love. When you have time, write articles and post them to the article directories for backlinks and traffic.

also, you can bookmark your content in the many social bookmark websites that are available.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I agree to Joshuthomas as well. The priority of having a blog should not at making money or you'll exhaust from finding articles. Write/update the post that you are really interested and share them to the public. From there, only you are able to produce quality posts.

To answer the payout question, you can collect cheque from Google AdSense. Find out your local bank who accept overseas cheque and which back offer lowest transaction charges. The payout is $100 from Google, by the way. You can also transfer it to your PayPal account. When you have accumulated certain amount, PayPal allow you to transfer the money to your bank account, but please check more details. There will be transaction charges for every transfer you do from PayPal to your bank account.
