I'm at position 15 for a keyword with 230,000,000 results, and is searched for 24,217 times a day according to Overture. I'm not working on that keyword either but all the terms I am optimising for include that word. Now if only Google would do the same for me I doubt it converts very well for me but terms based on that keyword where I rank in the top five do as those terms are more specific.
It's still so odd... You're index by yahoo and rank well, but no google display. I'm indexed by googel and rank first page in 8,000,000 results, and other keywords, yet i cant get indexed by yahoo. Perhaaps there is some fishy stuff gong on. Let's find out? ill make athread about it.
You can use digital point's keyword suggestion tool. Keep in mind that high competition search terms don't only show lots of results but they will have many sponsored links in adwords or overture.
A no 1 place too for 6.6 million results, but struggling with Google... www.digitalwildlifephotography.com And No 4 and 5 place for 15+ million results. www.digitalnaturepictures.com
Quick question, for people that get high up in the rankings on the first page, do you notice a pop, sort of like a huge increase in traffic or would you not even know you were on the first page if you didn't look?
Im ranked #5 on google for a good keyword Results 1 - 10 of about 6,410,000 for myspace games. (0.06 seconds) But its not bringing that much traffic
Being #1 or #5 out of 5 or 6 million doesn't mean much. Now if your ranked there and the first 5 pages have lots of adwords then that is different.
Actually, I disagree with you..Some people like me who want to actually find a website that meets our needs will even go through the first 3 pages before we refine our search...So it is a good achievement if you are even in the top 3 pages for your keyword.
From 30 uniques a day .....to 450 overnight for a few keywords that rank on the first page, still growing...... hit 550 yesterday. I just hope Yahoo leave them their .
I'm #1 on yahoo for keyword cursors. But I wanna get number 1 for keyword cursor...who knew...I guess keywords with "s" at the end are more searched.
It doesn't help me being in the top 3 on MSN for a certain phrase because I still have to wait for people to search for that phrase. But I must say it is a cool feeling.
I had 17 out of over 1,350,000,000 (it might still be there) - no real seo attempts (old site, old links) though it was purely trophy, even though in theory its a great term to rank for. I dont like Yahoo results atm. They struggle to even rank sites for their name and the results still fluctuate alot for me.
Has anyone noticed a roll back into rankings? I've been on top5 for all the keywords I've set in the coop (with at least 60mln of pages per search) but now I'm seeing the results to be back up.
