I have to agree with this, Yahoo is showing 130000 links to my site and I think they all contain the same anchor text.

I wasn't ranking at all in Yahoo but when I upped the COOP weight to 60k pointing to my site with anchor text of three carefully selected words I am suddenly ranking at #1 for those keywords and on the first or second page for about 25 other terms containing a mixture of those keywords. And these are very popular terms, one has over 200million results.

I don't rank anywhere in Google for any of those terms but never have so I'm not worried about upsetting Google.

Sadly, this is mostly true. In a Penn State study of browser's behavior,
only 20% went on to the second page of results.

I could not find the original study in html, but here it is in pdf...

    http://ist.psu.edu/faculty_pages/jjansen/

Click the second one down titled:
"Real life, real users, and real needs: A study and analysis of user queries on the web"

Or, you can read this summary:

    HI WebGazelle,

are you saying that Yahoo put more empasis on IBL now?

do you mean multi-ip IBL or also site-wides?

    cheers

It seems like any and all links work. Site-wides and single links. Just watch who you trade links with and don't do site-wide cross linking.

I've had statistics of my website, and google and MSN index me a thousands times per month, while Yahoo indexes me like 20 times per month and only the main page. I dunno i never really did their add URL thing, but when i look at search engine statistics most of my visitors come from Google, and a few come from MSN, 0 from yahoo. It's really quite odd.

I'm ranked #1 or on first page in about 20-40 keywords.
This month i got 400 first-time hits from Google, 20 from MSN.
So i'm really confused as to why Yahoo doesn't rank me at all.

This is probably a dumb question but could someone tell me if this is the Yahoo bot that crawls my sites "Unknown robot (identified by 'crawl')"

There is a MSN bot, a Google bot, a Ask Jeeves bot, etc but nothing shows for Yahoo.

That is kinda messed up. You might inquire to Yahoo to see why they don't index you.

This is out of 1332 records. (All of which are MSN and Google):
This is Selecting Slurp! bots only:

    /
    /articles.htm
    /
    /codedb.htm
    /index.php
    /tutorials.htm
    /
    /index.php
    /
    /index.php
    /
    /
    /
    /
    /

And it goes on like that for exactly 29 records. Doesn't crawl anything except a few pages. I submitted my site to Yahoo today, and also to the directory. My website is mainly content based but i do offer a service of web design if needed. But hopefully they won't reject it, and say it is non-commercial. I dont want to pay 299$ :X

Don't worry about it. Yahoo is worth it. December has brought me only 28 hits for being #1 for a huge search term. A term that would have given me 250 hits from Google.

I'm at position 11 for a huge keyword, 94,000,000 results. This is by attrician, I was not working it. That's pretty cool IMO.

I nailed number one for the words I work with, #1 out of 17,800,000.

    Go yahoo!
