I have a plan of learning vector-based graphics software to design logo and other stuffs. Which program would you(graphics designer) recommend me and why?
Corel Draw and Illustrator are both great software. You cannot go wrong with both of them. That being said there are some factors that can help you decide. There is no Corel Draw for Mac. There are older versions but they work to slow with the Intel macs. If you're using a PC, this should not be a problem for you. Illustrator has both PC and mac versions. So Illustrator wins this round. Corel Draw is better at creating and manipulating very detailed graphics. You can do the same with Illustrator but you need to purchase extra plugins like Xtream path, better handles, path toolkit etc. Illustrators color management is better. Illustrator integrates very well with other adobe products. The most important thing you should know is that if you learn how to use one of them, you'll know how to use the other one automatically, with few small differences. Finally I would suggest that you invest your time on learning Illustrator first.
I think that the answer for you is Corel draw it has a much friendly interface and really easy one but I think it depends on the person.
Illustrator seems to be great as most designers actually use it. but if you just want to learn for fun and don't want to spend, use Inkscape. its free and definitely better quality than Illustrator.
For me Illustrator was the right choice. Maybe this is because I started graphic design using Photoshop and Illustrator also comes from Adobe. I say the best thing to do so you can set up your mind is to try them both and see which one suits you the best.
Use illustrator because it have some more advance option then coreldraw. All professional designer now using this advance software for creating vector art.
Illustrator because we can give many effects in it. It has ready made symbols, shapes, gradients to use. It also has compatibility with photoshop.
