Illustrator beginner. I want to learn headers, banners, logos, things like that

    Where did you go when you fist started learning AI? What area did you start with?

    I want to mainly learn it to enter and actually have a decent chance at winning logo contests here on DP.

    if you want to learn i would suggest to read some tutorials,and for the art you can learn how to draw you got a better chance winning if you have something unique that you made

    search in google for Illustrator tutorials. Actually Illustrator CS2 is very easy just be creative and patient because a logo needs time and imagination

    As others have recommend, tutorials are your best bet. Here are some sites:

    Tutorialized
    Layers Mag
    Illustrator Techniques

    I would highly recommend getting to know and love the pen tool. It is a real pain to get used to it but it will become your best friend especially when creating logos.
