    Hello,

Is it illegal to use other RSS feeds to auto post on your blog even if you give credit to the source for the articles?

An example would be that I set up a WP Blog and then use RSS feeds to post to it, however I give credit to all sources. So if the blog was about sports and I have a category such as baseball, if I use the Major League Baseball's RSS feed to post articles and news but at the top of the listings I post where the articles were originally found is this still illegal?

    Thanks,
    Nick

Unless you have permission to republish someone else's content, posting the entire article infringes the author's copyright. Giving credit to the source does not give you the right to republish the article.

Your choices in the poll make no sense. Is the first choice supposed to read "It is completely ILLEGAL" rather than "legal"?

I just looked at the TOS for MLB's RSS feed. They specifically say it is for non-commercial use. They also suggest you contact them if you want to use their RSS feed -- and it looks like they want you to use it with permission as long as you give a link to their web site. My suggestion is to contact all the RSS feed owners whose content you want to use and ask for a license to use the feed.

RSS feeds generally don't contain the full post, I have used several sources on my auto blog..there wont be any problem if you leave a link back to the source from where your are leeching. ;)

looks like you have been taking lessons from politicians on how to create a poll that will give you the answer that you want no matter what anyone selects as the answer.

RSS Feed is for readers to read, not copy and republication. The fact that someone is offering RSS Feed doesn't mean he permits you to copy or republish the content, you're only free to read the contents. Stealing content by whichever means is illegal, please understand this. Either you do it by copy/paste or by automatic robots - it doesn't matter, the issue is stealing. It is only legal if you have express permission from the owners to copy/republish.

you posted a trick poll - you have to have permission to post someone elses srticle , BUT, if you are quoting the author and link to original article, most people will not bother you, 99% of them anyway.
