Have a friend who no longer has an affiliation with their former employer but the email address is still on the website and the former employers lawyer is saying you are giving off a false impression having as if she was afffiliated with your business. so the question is: is it illegal to have an email address for somebody who is no longer there? I dont believe it is deceitful but curious to hear the DP insiders point of view.
So from what you wrote it sounds like the former employee still has his work email from a company he doesn't work at anymore listed on some website. (I am making some assumption because if it is the employers lawyer who is complaining then it must be about the employee since the employer could remove it from their own website) Your question though makes it sounds like you are wondering if the employer still has an email listed for an employee who is not still there. The answer to me is that yes, it could be giving a false impression. The better question to ask is why is the email still there? If the former employee can't use it anymore, and it is causing enough of a problem for the employer to get a lawyer involved why not just remove it? These types of problems just seem to be people with too much time on their hands who are looking to be a pain in the ass to someone while not really fighting over anything important.
