http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/08/17/ap4031767.html Basically, the illegals are buying memberships to Indian tribes as a way to skirt the law and stay in the country. Problem is it's all a fraud and the memberships are meaningless when it comes to them being deported. What's worse is the illegals can't sue and get their money back because, well... they're illegal. pwned.
I read the headline a few weeks ago. I didn't think it'd matter in terms of citizen status; but that's pretty funny, actually. On the flip side, if an illegal comes and lives in a tribal area, they could not be pursued by immigration could they? What's worse is this: You just -know- that the $500,000 raised here is going to help with problems on the reservations, don't you? Curious where that money is going.
Well since they are breaking the law multiple times themselves, being her illegally and illegally trying to skirt the law with these phony memberships, it's a bit like sueing a drug dealer who ripped you off. Yes it's possible, not likely though especially over $50 even in a class action. ---but then again Someone robbing you gets hurt and they can sue
I hope they lose some $$ in those casinos while they are at it...at least it would help with keeping US $ in the US.
