There's probably only so many people available that fit the needs of the job. Along with speaking the language fluently, the analyst needs to be intelligent/skilled enough for the job, know the culture, and in this case, probably some of the inner workings of the groups. She probably seemed so good and convincing that they let some questionable things pass. The thing that's amazing is that part of getting a security clearance (especially a high level one) is getting a background check. This is supposed to include verifying licenses, certificates and passports, along with interviewing friends and relatives. The higher the security clearance, the more detailed the background check.

It's time to fix the immigration problem at the source. Too many immigration laws kill the immigration. It's so easy to fix, but it looks like the US government won't go easy, most probably by the need of illegal immigrants in the US... She married a US citizen because only the US citizenship allows rights. Half of the illegal immigrants are illegal because they have no rights as legal...until they get citizenship... An unknown side by the US public obviously, since they don't need to pass through immigration....
US already has a system of legal immigration. I know a guy that just came the US to work and has a green card. He's going back to Central America because he can't even make minimum wage due to the competition of illegal aliens.
I'm legal in the US. I can't drive, I can't get a phone, I can't get loan, I can't get insurance, I can't get health insurance, I can't get business license but I can work. I built a business where my employees pick me up to go to work. That's the only privilege that I get. My family can't get ANYTHING but are all fully legal... The only thing we MUST do is to pay our taxes... We are thinking about burning our passports and visas and apply in N-Y for driving license as illegals... IT'S TIME TO FIX THE US IMMIGRATION AT THE SOURCE...
