iKobo is described as “The Fastest Growing Money Transfer Company“. iKobo is a method of transferring money internationally. “iKobo enables you to send funds more conveniently, securely and faster than other money transfer methods”.

    How dose iKobo work?

    1. You start the money transfer using your debit / credit card.

    2. iKobo sends the person receiving the money an i-Kard (Visa Electron Card) by airmail!

    3. The person receiving the money goes to any Visa Plus ATM to withdraw the cash, or uses it to purchase from any Visa merchant worldwide. The i-Kard is re-usable. Once the person has an i-Kard, they can receive money from anyone, anywhere in the world - in less than 30 seconds. The recipient can receive money from any of over 800,000 ATMs in 170 countries.

The replacement of PayPal (especially for unsupported countries):

iKobo is especially recommended for sending money to such countries as India and the Philippines, and is a way people can be in touch financially with their family.

iKobo offers both Personal Accounts and Merchant Accounts, and it’s a great replacement of PayPal, especially for unsupported countries.

    HUGE CORRECTION:

iKobo is in no way a replacement for PayPal. It is not a third party payment processing company like PayPal is. It's a money transfer service like Money Gram, Western Union or related services. That means, iKobo does not offer merchant services. It's not that kind of service/company. Please make sure you read the site. If you check their help section, you will see that no merchant programs are available:

    https://ikobo.custhelp.com/

Again, iKobo is a money transfer service not a third party payment processing company like PayPal and therefore cannot logically be used to replace PayPal (it's not a PayPal alternative) nor can PayPal and iKobo be even compared to one another. If anything, iKobo compares its service to Western Union.

Used it a long time ago. Didn't have much problems. Withdrew from ATM a few times too using the card. Dunno how they are doing these days.
