    Hi,

Anyone got any experience using those? I'm thinking of using one for my website www.flashculture.com and I'm unsure which to go with! Also is there any "issues" with using them that I should be aware of?

    Thanks for any help.

its a very nice component, but learning it isnt that nice, its powerfull but takes time to know what to do, never used the news component, but maintaining magazine is a pain in the ass

It is an excellent component with very good support. It is missing a few features, so you should make sure you go through the forum to see it does provide all you want (esp if you are importing existing articles and want good archiving).

It does provide most of the functions of a magazine/news component and does look good - Do note that you may need help if you want your site to look at good or better than the demo sites. Again, ask on the forum as it is quite active.

Is there any main reasons to use one of the components over the other?

Some of the components can be quite useful, some are just for looks, and some can be quite powerful, but at the same time use a lot of queries or slow your site down. extensions.joomla.org is the best resource for finding and reviewing Joomla components. Many users will leave their comments/reviews on components which may save you some time and grief before installing them yourself.
