I have a Dual Quad Xeon, 12GB of ram, 1.8TB of drive space, etc. I have a little bit of dynamic data. What should I look for as to optimize the server.

You stated that it has a bit of dynamic data, but no hint as to the number of users or anticipated use. Also, optimization can be performed at the IIS level, database, application, and other areas. Are you experiencing performance problems?

I think I was being specific. Switching to Linux is the greatest advantage he can have. Performance-wise, the machine is a beast. Its security is outstanding compared to Windows or UNIX in general. Additionally, upgrades for software packages are much easier. I suggest you detail more of what sort of "optimization" you are looking for. Throw us some specs, and you'll get better answers. When I mean specs, I mean your OS and what level of optimization you plan on integrating.
