I believe that is the Branch Code. If you do not know, check with your bank branch, they should know their code.

It is very easy Just look on the cheque Leaves and you will find the IFSC codes

    Eg for
HDFC is HDFC000XXX where xxx is Bank Branch No
Axis Bank is UTIB0000XXX where XXX is Branch No
Now there are many other banks of whom I dont hold the account so I cant tell.

Yeap same with ICICI bank too

IFSC Code for ICICI bank is ICIC0000XXX where XXX is your Bank Branch Code. You can easily find this code on your bank cheque book.

thats the problem with indian banks. They dont care to update if there is any change in the data published. why dont you call up your bank and ask for it?

The best way to get IFSC code is call your bank and ask the code and compare with no published in the list.

It is the best if you call up your bank and confirm with them the 'code'.

    Why take a risk..
