Is it legal to iframe an spesific area of a webpage
    Eg: a chat room

    Using this method:

What do you mean legal? There is no law against using an iframe. If you are talking about displaying content from a site you don't own, you should obtain permission.

Only thing you have to worry about is a number of virus protection softwares and the like will not allow content from an iframe to show. Some advertising blocking software will do the same.

An iframe can include content from anywhere, including your own site. You need permission to display content that you don't own, regardless of if you use an iframe.

as long as your not using the iframe in a ILLEGAL activity(ie. fraud, etc.), then yeah, it's legal.

depends where the iframe points to, if that pertains to any illegal activities, then of course it is illegal
