    Hi all,

Was going through some of the websites and found that no one actually promote iframes in the websites... it would be great if you can put some shadow on it... are iframes SE lovable (if not lovable, are they just kicked off by SE's) ??? do they create BIG PROBLEMS in getting you ranked up organically in Search Engines (spl GOOGLE) ??? Is there any website(s) that is ranking really well on competitive keywords and have iframes too ??? do shed some light over it.

    Thanks a ton.

    Mike...

Iframes are generally considered as just another reference to a certain resource by search engines, like an anchor. Iframed pages would thus have a lower ranking than what they would have had if they would have been at the parent location.
Iframes are also unaccessible (try it with lynx or a screenreader for example) and deprecated in XHTML.

I would stay away from any technique that doesn't display the content directly within the HTML.

what if we use enough keyword enriched content alongwith the iframe to keep the site going ?? still S.E's wont like that ?? also does size (total number of pages) of the website makes any impact on the ranking??? thanks

Why the hardon for iFrames? From what I have seen, robots will not pick them up.

Total pages of the site can effect your SERPs as intercal linking can play a role in SERP's. That said, never just add pages to increase you page count. Only add pages if they add to the value of your website.

yes... thats what the plan is.... logic behind having good amount of pages is not to increase the page count but the site would also contain valued information......

Robots pick everything, the problem is that most people never add reference to inner pages in framed pages, in example:

    <noframe>alternate no frames version</noframe> or

    <iframe=blah, blah>links, keywords and some content here</iframe>

I have seen major sites using optimized iframes and obviously, I'm talking about websites ranking above PR8
