Hey guys, I am looking to put a forum inside my blog and the only way I can think of doing it is with iframes. Now, I have heard they are bad for SEO but want some real answers. There will only be one iframe, which will contain the forum that will be placed in a wordpress blog. Thanks guys!
why would you want to do that? why not just link them straight into your forum? Google can see inside frames these days (not sure about iFrames still) and may decide to index the contents and ignore your host page depending on exactly how you set it up. we had this a little while ago, whilst expecting it to do exactly the opposite, they totally ignored index.html and indexed the framed site inside instead, thereby also ignoring our titles, descriptions etc. that's first time Ive seen that, its usually the other way around, but this was only 3 weeks ago, so is current info.
"forum inside a blog using iframe" don't make lot of sense. For a moment, lets even forget about seo, even in terms of usability and feasibility, this don't make any sense. The address bar will always show same url even though people will be navigating between forum pages.
