Hi everyone, Here's something I can't find the answer to: There are a couple of great sites I the opportunity to get links from, however I noticed that a competitor also has a link on the exact same page there using the same exact anchor text I wanted to use. Do you think using identical anchor text as the competitor would somehow penalize the value of the link (as it is not unique) or does it not matter? Should I choose an anchor text which is not used by any other links on that page? What would you do? Energizer
There are thousands (millions?) of links with identical anchor text now, going to different sites, do you think these are penalized? (The answer is no )
Guys, I see what you're saying, but isn't it possible Google could use the following perspective: If the same html page has the same anchor text for several links on that same page, perhaps this page is less useful to users as it does not differentiate? I would think that a page with different links on it - all with different anchor texts - would be more helpful to the user, perhaps in the eyes of the search engines, as it indicates it has unique links? Anyway just an idea...
